West Seattle Sites

I am in seattle this weekend visiting my brother and his wife. They live in a great West Seattle neighborhood and have an amazing mid-century modern home that they have recently renovated. The houses in this area range from 1920's bunglalows, to story book style to mid-century modern. I am sharing some inspiring exterior home photos of theirs and a few others that have caught my attention. I have been particularly impressed by the great attention to detail when it comes to these homes from the front door entry ways to the use of color. Check these out.

My brother and his wife recently re-did their front entrance adding a new door, updated house numbers and new lighting. I love the contrast of the rich honey door stain against the gray house exterior. They nailed this modern look complete with a sleek white planter and brushed stainless steel door hardware.

And then there is their backyard. WOW! The landscaping is incredible and the fence frames out the space beautifuly. I love the mix of materials used in the fence, both metal and wood to create constrast and interest along the edge of the yard. The raised beds in the back create a great  spot for some vegetable plants and I like the way they have divided up the space to create area for both hobby and leisure.

I am in love with the green doors and white trim on this bungalow. The bright colors pop against the gray-brown siding and painted brick of this home.

This home took a similar cue as the previous and showcases a beautifully painted citrus yellow door that works great with the gray exterior and white brick.
